The Ritvo Autism Asperger's Diagnostic Scale
At this time, we are seeking volunteers with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger's Disorder to complete the questionnaire. We offer a $20 subject fee for participants. This is an important scale which can help many individuals with autism and Asperger's Disorder receive services as well as facilitate research. The Ritvo Autism Asperger's Diagnostic Scale (RAADS) is a newly developed self-report diagnostic questionnaire. The RAADS is a self-administered scale assisting clinicians in diagnosing adults with Autism and Asperger's Disorder. It contains 78 questions which screen for autism and Asperger's disorder in adults. The RAADS was developed by Drs. Riva Ariella and Edward Ritvo and is in its second revision stage. The first experimental phase has been submitted for publication.
Unlike other diagnostic methods, the RAADS is based on a developmental neuropathology model which accommodates neurodiversity. The model also presumes that children and adults with AS process sensory, linguistic, and social information differently than those who are not on the autistic spectrum.
