Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo

Doctor Riva Ariella Ritvo (Doctor Ari) is a clinician and a biomedical researcher specializing in children and adults with Asperger's and Autistic Disorders. She is the director of the Ritvo Clinic and a clinical instructor at the Yale Child Study Center, Yale Univesity School of Medicine. Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo has been diagnosing and treating individuals with autism spectrum disorders for over 20 years. She has extensive education and training in occupational therapy, neurosciences, and psychology. Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo recently developed a diagnostic system for adults with Asperger's Disorder (see RAADS). Dr. Ritvo also evaluates and treats adolescents and young adults with eating disorders and relationship difficulties.

Dr. Ari has given numerous lectures internationally about autism and Asperger's Disorder and has been a consultant on several books and TV movies. She published papers on clinical characteristics of adults with autism, melatonin variations, and cognitive stability of autistic children. Most recently, Dr. Riva Ari Ritvo submitted her new diagnostic scale for publication. Her paper was accepted and is in press now. Preliminary results look promising. The initial data on the RAADS is being published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disabilities. Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo has many neurodiverse friends who have taught her that there is more than one acceptable way to view life and its people.



Dr. Edward Ritvo

Edward R. Ritvo MD is an internaionally recognized medical expert, researcher and pioneer in the field of autism and Asperger's Disorder and co-author of the official diagnostic criteria in the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders). Much of what is known about these disorders today is based on his painstaking research and groundbreaking discoveries. He continues to work in both research and clinical practice with Ari Ritvo. Most recently, he joined her in developing a new diagnostic scale for adults with Asperger's Disorder (see RAADS).



Skye and Victoria Ritvo

Victoria Ritvo (Torrie) has extensive training and expertise in designing and implementing Special Education programs for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, Autism and Asperger's Disorder. Victoria Ritvo, a registered and licensed occupational therapist, is a provider of direct services such as behavior therapy, tutoring, educational services and sensory stimulation techniques. Torrie graduated from USC with a degree in occupational therapy and a minor in psychology. She also serves as an IEP consultant to families.

Skye Ritvo graduated from Brandies University with honors. She majored in fine arts and minored in psychology. While pursuing graduate education in art therapy Skye has been an ABA therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.



Max Ritvo

Max Ritvo is a high school student at Harvard Westlake. He has facilitated social skills training groups and has many friends who are neurodiverse. Max is a great resource for the adolescents on the spectrum. He is able to speak their language and they are comfortable sharing their interests and corresponding with him. Max assisted in developing, administering and writing a journal article about the RAADS.
